Andriy Shevchenko has admitted that upon retirement a return to Milan in a coaching capacity could interest him.
The Ukrainian international, who scored his nation’s first two goals at a European Championships this week to earn them their first ever win in the competition proper, spent seven years with the Rossoneri.
In the club’s record books as their second all-time highest goalscorer, 35-year-old Shevchenko reflected that he could be drawn back to San Siro in the future.

“Would I go back to Milan as a Coach or director? Maybe so, you never know,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“My doors are always open to Milan, I have always maintained excellent relations with everyone there, so who knows, maybe one day.
“I’ll only decide my future after the European Championships. I don’t know yet if I will continue to play or not.”
Sheva also reflected on Monday night’s game for Ukraine against Sweden, where the 2-1 result sees the co-hosts top Group D after one round.
“I never imagined a night like this. It was a dream. I don’t know how far we can go, I only know that this team can do well despite any criticism.
“We have a very interesting number of youngsters that top clubs follow.”
