Fabio Borini and Milan are said to be considering a proposal to join Chinese club Shenzhen FC in January, but want €15m.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri are eager to get Borini’s large salary off their books as soon as possible.
The former Sunderland man arrived with wages worth €2.5m net per year and his contract runs to June 2021.
He has scored one goal this season in 11 competitive appearances, struggling with injuries and being played out of position, including at times as a full-back.
