Salernitana have reportedly agreed a six-month loan for Sheffield United centre-forward Lys Mousset.

According to transfer pundit Nicolò Schira and Tuttomercatoweb, it is a done deal until the end of the season.

Mousset has received proposals from Turkey and the Netherlands, but seems to have his heart set on Serie A and bottom of the table Salernitana.

Sheffield United signed Mousset in 2019 for €11m, but he has had difficulties on and off the pitch, recently frozen out of the squad and is training by himself.

His contract was set to expire at the end of the season anyway, so it could just be a six-month loan to get his salary off their books.

The striker turns 26 next month and did make an impact when he played in the Championship this term, scoring three goals in only seven appearances for the Blades.

He is a product of the Le Havre academy, moving to England for Bournemouth in 2016 and then Sheffield United in 2019.
