Milan are expected to cut up to seven players in the upcoming summer transfer window as they work on strengthening Stefano Pioli’s squad.

The atmosphere are started to grow increasingly sour at the Rossoneri in recent weeks, with poor form in Serie A and a miserable Champions League semi-final with Inter both putting increased pressure on Pioli and his players, as well as directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.

Fans are hoping to see sweeping changes in the summer and Milan are expected to pick up a number of reinforcements as they look to close the gap with the teams at the top.

As reported in the paper edition of Corriere dello Sport, Milan may possibly lose up to seven players in the upcoming summer transfer window, starting with flop striker Divock Origi, who only managed two goals in 35 appearances across all competitions this season.

Timouè Bakayoko will return to Chelsea after a two-year loan spell and Sergino Dest will head back to Barcelona, with his buy option not being activated. Aster Vranckx, whilst popular at the club, will likely return to VfL Wolfsburg as the Rossoneri are not willing to pay his €12m permanence clause. A new one-year loan deal could be set up for the defender.

Yacine Adli is likely to depart on loan, keen for more minutes after hardly featuring under Pioli this season. There are also questions about the futures of Fode Ballo-Tourè and Junior Messias at Milan, and both could see the door in the summer.
