Hellas Verona President Maurizio Setti has claimed Marash Kumbulla ‘could stay’ at the Bentegodi and said the Gialloblu have offered Fabio Borini a new deal.
Setti spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the upcoming transfer market and claimed Ivan Juric’s side are looking for useful players rather than big names.
“It will be a special and new [market],” he told the newspaper. “We will only intervene to insert useful players and not media names.
“We will not throw away money also because we must understand how it will be with the fans in the stadiums.”
Kumbulla has been linked with Napoli and Inter in recent months and Setti waits for the Nerazzurri to make a move after the Europa League Final tonight.
“We are waiting for the Europa League to end,” he added. “But there are not only Inter, other top clubs are interested.
“We still can’t rule out that he might stay.”
Verona picked up former Milan forward on a six-month deal in January, but his future at the Bentegodi is uncertain.
“We are negotiating, we have made our proposal and are waiting for the reply.”
