Parma announced that centre-forward Roberto Inglese has a serious thigh injury, which could keep him out for a couple of months.
The 28-year-old was carried off the field after a heavy fall during Parma’s 2-1 defeat to Juventus on Sunday evening.
A statement from the club confirmed that tests showed “a serious lesion to the myotendinous junction of the right thigh flexor.”
Inglese will have further tests with a specialist over the next few days to decide on a course of treatment, which could include surgery.

According to reports, this type of injury will require at least a couple of months out of action.
It’s a serious blow for Inglese and Parma, as he has managed only 13 appearances this season between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
He was out from October to January with a badly sprained ankle.
