There is bad news for Verona, as midfielder Tomas Suslov sustained a serious injury on international duty with Slovakia.

He was all set to travel for a friendly match in Oslo, but instead remained behind for tests on an ankle injury.

According to local reports, he was diagnosed with the partial rupture of ligaments in the right ankle.

Suslov is expected to be out of action for at least four weeks, but it could be longer.

The 21-year-old only joined Hellas Verona from FC Groningen on a permanent basis in January for €1m following an initial loan deal in September 2023.

He has made 23 Serie A appearances for the club, contributing one goal and four assists.
