Serie D side Pavia are reportedly making attempts to bring veteran Italy striker Mario Balotelli on board after his underwhelming experience in Serie A with Genoa last season.
Sky: Pavia to present formal offer to Balotelli
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Pavia are attempting to convince the 34-year-old to join, and have been courting him for several months.
Pavia, who are currently competing in the fourth tier of Italian football, are expected to present Balotelli with a formal offer in the near future.
He will be available on a free transfer after being released by Genoa at the end of his contract in June. The Grifone had pounced on the former Inter, Manchester City, Milan and Liverpool striker, again on a free transfer, after his experience in Turkey with Adana Demirspor.
Balotelli, who will turn 35 on Tuesday, was unable to make any real impact during his time with Genoa, particularly after the appointment of his old foe Patrick Vieira as head coach. He earned just six Serie A appearances last term, all from the bench for a combined 56 minutes of action, failing to score or register an assist during that period.
More recently, the infamous Italian has been back in the UK taking part in the Ballers League.
