The derby between Palermo and Catania could be at risk, as ANSA reports six new cases of coronavirus at the Rosanero.

The news agency reports the pre-match swabs on the eve of tonight’s match in Serie C, scheduled at 20.00 UK time, has revealed six players positive for COVID-19 and two others are being studied further.

Among the 18 players called up by coach Roberto Boscaglia, six players tested positive for coronavirus, totally asymptomatic.

The club waits for the outcome of the control swabs carried out this morning, as per the FIGC protocol.

The report reveals Catania are waiting too, as their departure yesterday was postponed due to a positive case found in the technical staff.

The Rossoazzurri underwent new tests and left for Palermo, waiting to know the results.

Palermo currently sit 19th in Serie C and have only picked up two points from five games so far, whilst Catania hover over the relegation play-offs on six points from six games.
