As the only victory was in the opening round, it was not much of a surprise to see the break for international duty as a chance to sack former Inter Primavera tactician Vecchi.

According to multiple sources including Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia, Zenga has been chosen as his replacement.

Zenga accidentally confirmed as much with an Instagram post, which he then swiftly deleted.

It is a return to the fold for Zenga, whose last job saw him unable to save Crotone from relegation.

The 58-year-old former goalkeeper has a well-travelled management career with the likes of National Bucharest, Steaua Bucharest, Red Star Belgrade, Gaziantepspor, Catania, Palermo, Al-Nasr, Sampdoria, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crotone.
