Serie B: Reggiana postpone game due to COVID

Serie B side Reggiana now have 11 players and five members of staff positive for COVID-19, so their match with Cittadella will be postponed.

The protocol in Serie B is different to the top flight, as the clubs do not have the resources to create a ‘bubble’ for any length of time.

Therefore, after six cases at Reggiana ahead of their 2-1 defeat to Ascoli, today’s swabs found another 10 people within the club were infected.

That takes the total up to 11 players and five members of staff, including coach Massimiliano Alvini.

Reggiana have requested that this weekend’s Serie B match against Cittadella be postponed.

There was already another incident in Serie C this week, when Palermo’s game with Turris was postponed at the last minute due to an outbreak within the Sicilian squad.
