Lega Serie B have announced that three matches have been postponed due to COVID outbreaks in some of the squads.

Cittadella-Cosenza and Parma-Crotone, which were due to be played tomorrow afternoon at 1pm UK time, and Vicenza-Alessandria, which was due to be played on Sunday at 5:30pm UK time, have all been postponed.

The matches will be played at a later date and this will be decided in the coming weeks. Four Serie A matches were postponed during the first gameday break after the Christmas break due to COVID outbreaks, highlighting the danger the omicron variant poses to Italian football.

Lega Serie A and the Italian government recently drafted a new anti-COVID protocol, which states that a match can only be postponed if at least 35% of the playing squad have tested positive for the virus, and only senior first team players are included in this. Stadiums have also had their capacity capped at 5000 until the end of the month.
