Venezia are through to the Serie B promotion play-off final after sweeping Palermo aside 2-1 on the night, 3-1 on aggregate.
They will face either Cremonese or Catanzaro in the two-legged final, the winners joining Parma and Como in Serie A next season.
The Lagunari already had a big advantage after winning the first leg 1-0 in Sicily, but also knew an aggregate draw after extra time would see them qualify too, as they finished the regular season higher up the Serie B table.
It took barely four minutes for them to further increase the lead, as Tenner Tessmann won back the ball in midfield, ran forward and unleashed a scorcher from distance that dipped viciously into the far top corner.
When Palermo tried to reply, Jesse Joronen was decisive with a great save on the Jacopo Segre header, while Nicholas Pierini and Gianluca Busio saw their efforts pushed away.
Venezia doubled their lead just before half-time with a Francesco Zampano roll across from the left that found Antonio Candela to tap in undisturbed at the back post.
The hosts continued to push, as Gianluca Busio saw his strike flash just over, but Palermo did finally get a small consolation with Michael Svoboda accidentally deflecting a Chaka Traore curler into his own net.
