There was huge controversy in stoppages, as Perugia were making a counter-attack when an extra ball was thrown on to the pitch from the Pescara bench.
This sort of incident already happened in a Serie B promotion play-off in 2018, when Frosinone’s bench were repeatedly rolling extra balls to stop Palermo counter-attacks.
It sparked a furious reaction from Perugia and a touchline row, not to mention 11 minutes of stoppages.
