It has been confirmed that VAR technology will be used throughout the 2021-22 Serie B season.
The Video Assistant Referee was already a regular in the top flight in Italy, who were one of the first to introduce it to their league football.
Serie B had VAR only for the promotion play-offs, but the training and upgrades have now been completed, allowing VAR to be used from Week 1 of the 2021-22 season.
That campaign will kick off on the weekend of August 21, the same as Serie A.
The news was confirmed by FIGC secretary general Marco Brunelli today during the Lega Serie A and B meeting.
