Gianluigi Buffon made his comeback in Parma’s 2-2 draw with Frosinone in Serie B tonight, as the two sides shared the spoils thanks to a late free header from substitute Gabriel Charpentier.
The goalkeeper was furious after Alessio Zerbin made it 1-0 in the rain at the Benito Stirpe, but the veteran continued to make many great saves to keep the Gialloblu in the game.
Buffon left Juventus after 2020-21 and re-joined Parma, where it all started, and will try to help the Ducali bounce back to Serie A on the first attempt.
Gennaro Tutino equalised after 41 minutes, before Dennis Man made it 2-1 after 52 minutes and Parma looked like they were going to secure the three points in an intense opening game of the new Serie B campaign.
But Charpentier was given a great chance with a free header in the 89th minute and Buffon could have done better, but didn’t manage to stop Frosinone from claiming a point at the end.
