The Tuscans are on the edge of the relegation zone and Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat to Hellas Verona proved the final straw.
This afternoon Empoli announced that Pillon had been fired along with his staff.
The new Coach in charge is Carboni, supported by assistant manager Stefano Bianconi.
Both of them played for Empoli in the 1990s.
