Cosenza completed a comeback victory after losing the first leg of the Serie B relegation play-out, sending Vicenza down to Serie C1.

Vicenza had won the first leg 1-0 on home turf, but Cosenza turned everything around in Calabria thanks to a brace from ex-Cagliari striker Joaquin Larrivey.

Massimo Zilli came off the bench at half-time and within 20 seconds his cross found Daniele Liotti, the header parried into the path of Larrivey.

Larrivey also converted a penalty awarded for Riccardo Brosco’s handling offence, giving him eight goals in 17 games since joining Cosenza in January.

It ended 2-0 on the night, allowing Cosenza to win 2-1 on aggregate and stay in Serie B for a fifth consecutive season.

Cosenza had finished the regular season ahead of Vicenza too, with 35 points to 34.

Pordenone, Crotone and Alessandria were already relegated after finishing in the bottom three of the Serie B table this season and will be joined by Vicenza.
