Verona dropped precious points with yet another missed penalty and more terrible defending on set plays, as Kaio Jorge gives Frosinone a result.

Hellas were stuck in the bottom three and seeing their squad transformed in the January transfer window, while the Canarini ended their run of five straight defeats by beating Cagliari 3-1. Ondrej Duda returned from suspension, but Frosinone missed Riccardo Marchizza, Pol Lirola, Jaime Baez, Anthony Oyono and Mateus Lusuardi. Tijjani Noslin and Demba Seck got their debuts from the start, but Verona fans mocked the transfer strategy by putting on a yard sale outside the stadium.

New signing Noslin and Michael Folorunsho tested the goalkeeper in the opening minutes, while a Darko Lazovic lob skimmed the crossbar.

Frosinone made a mess of clearing a cross from the right, it came through to Noslin, who got there before Medhi Bourabia and was kicked in the back of the ankle. VAR intervened for an inevitable penalty, but the curse struck once again, as Stefano Turati parried the Ondrej Duda spot-kick. It means Verona have now failed to convert four of their five penalties this season.

Hellas got another chance in first half stoppages, as Bourabia charged down a cross with his arm in the area. This time Tomas Suslov stepped up and finally broke that drought by firing into the near top corner, even though Turati did get his fingertips to this one too. Suslov was the fourth different Verona player to take a penalty this season.

Frosinone substitute Fares Ghedjemis scuffed the finish into the arms of the goalkeeper on a Matias Soule lay-off, while Noslin nodded off target for the hosts.

Lorenzo Montipó flew to palm away a Kaio Jorge right-foot curler, but Frosinone equalised on the resulting corner. Enzo Barrenechea flicked on the Soule set play and Kaio Jorge was allowed a free header to score.

Turati flew for an acrobatic save to prevent Verona restoring their lead with substitute Thomas Henry on the volley from a Noslin assist.

Verona were almost caught out by another corner, this time the Kaio Jorge free header was cleared off the line by Tchatchoua.

Walid Cheddira also wasted a free header by turning it wide on the Luca Mazzitelli cross and at the other end Thomas Henry fired over from a Ruben Vinaigre assist.
