Dusan Vlahovic scored two and Nicolò Savona got the other on his full Juventus debut, as the Bianconeri crushed Verona to keep the only perfect record after two Serie A rounds.
These teams both won their opening games 3-0, against Napoli and Como respectively. Hellas missed Suat Serdar and gave Daniel Mosquera his first start, while Juve lost Khephren Thuram and Tim Weah to injury, joining Arkadiusz Milik and not fully fit Danilo, so Nicolò Savona got his first senior start at right-back.
See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.
Gleison Bremer had to make a desperate double block in the box on Mosquera and Dailon Livramento, while Lorenzo Montipò flew to fingertip the Manuel Locatelli long-range effort out from under the bar.
Savona had the ball in the net on 23 minutes, but was offside at the back post as he met the Dusan Vlahovic flicked-on header.
Juventus did take the lead when Locatelli robbed Ondrej Duda in midfield and Kenan Yildiz immediately placed the through ball, allowing Vlahovic to control with the inside of the right boot before scoring with his left from 12 yards.
Savona doubled their advantage to mark his first senior start for the club he first joined at the age of 8. Mbangula whipped in a cross from the left and Savona’s looping header at the back post soared over everyone to fall into the net at the other top corner.
After the restart, Mbangula was brought down by a clumsy Jackson Tchatchoua challenge and Vlahovic sent Montipò the wrong way to convert the Juventus penalty.
Vlahovic also proved decisive at the other end, reading the Toma Suslov free kick and intercepting it at the near post. Pierre Kalulu made his Bianconeri debut after the loan move with option to buy from Milan and Michele Di Gregorio did have a save to make late on as Tchatchoua rolled across for Abdou Harroui.
