Udinese had Roberto Pereyra sent off in the first half, but still clawed back a point against Bologna with Beto cancelling out the Musa Barrow opener.

Watch the highlights here.

Serie A Highlights: Udinese 1-1 Bologna

The hosts again started summer signing Beto, but Ilija Nestorovski, Nehuen Perez and Isaac Success were still injured. Bologna staved off a crisis by crushing Lazio 3-0 before the break for international duty, but lost Jerdy Schouten and Kevin Bonifazi.

Musa Barrow’s angled drive was fingertipped round the post, then Matias Svanberg somehow fired wide on the rebound from Roberto Soriano’s charged down effort.

Udinese were already performing poorly, but then went down to 10 men after Roberto Pereyra’s second bookable offence, hauling back Arthur Theate.

Nonetheless, the hosts still had a huge chance to take the lead after the restart, Gerard Deulofeu thumping the top of the near post from a very tight angle.

Barrow skimmed the woodwork at the end of a good Bologna team move, then Lukasz Skorupski had to make a save from point-blank range on Jens Stryger-Larsen’s header.

Just as Udinese were pouring forward and playing far better down to 10 than with 11, they went behind, as Nico Dominguez swept a cross to the back post for a wonderful Musa Barrow cushioned volley with the inside of the right boot from the tightest of angles.

Michael Kingsley went off with an apparently serious ankle injury, while Barrow again tested Marco Silvestri with a slight Nahuel Molina deflection.

Bologna were angry at the Udinese equaliser, but Skorupski was simply too weak and hesitant when trying to punch a cross off the head of Becao, allowing Beto to nod in at the back post undisturbed. The visitors wanted a foul on the goalkeeper, but Skorupski bumped into Becao.
