There are three Serie A players in Vincenzo Montella’s large 35-man preliminary Turkey squad for EURO 2024, namely Hakan Calhanoglu, Kenan Yildiz and Zeki Celik.

The tournament is due to run in Germany this summer from June 14 to July 14.

Turkey are in a group with Georgia, Portugal and the Czech Republic, but before the competition they will play against Italy in a friendly match on June 4.

Their coach is also Italian and Montella has today named the preliminary squad for EURO 2024, which will be whittled down to just 26 by June 7.

Calhanoglu is fresh from winning the Scudetto at Inter in one of the best seasons of his career.

Roma defender Celik is another regular in the squad, while teenager Kenan Yildiz has gone from strength to strength at Juventus.
