According to TycSports in Argentina, Manchester City have submitted two different offers to sign River Plate starlet Julian Alvarez who has been linked with several Serie A clubs and Manchester United.

Juventus, Inter, Milan, and Fiorentina closely monitor the 21-year-old who scored 18 goals in 21 appearances in the Argentinean league last term. Manchester United are also interested in securing the striker’s services.

Inter director Dario Baccin personally scouted Alvarez at the end of 2021 and all four Serie A clubs are in talks with both River Plate and the player’s agent.

Alvarez has a €20m release clause included in his contract and his current deal expires in December 2022.

According to TycSports, Manchester City have not matched the player’s release clause but have made two different bids to sign the Argentinean.

One would see Alvarez sign with Pep Guardiola’s side in January before moving to another European club until the end of the season.

The other one would allow River to keep the player until the summer and send him to England in time for the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign.

River Plate are not believed to have reached an agreement with the Citizens, but their interest in Alvarez is described as ‘concrete.’
