Was severely tested by the Roma forwards but never found wanting, coming off his line, facing down forwards on one to ones and blocking shots from point blank-range. Was at his very best acrobatically clawing away a ferocious Maicon deflection. Spectacular.

The Advocate laid down the law on Miroslav Klose, whether on the ground or in the air he overruled the German. Always alert alongside Mario Yepes they dominated the centre of the defence allowing no-one to pass. Exceptional.
Gabriel Paletta [Parma]
Can’t do anything wrong lately and demonstrated exactly why he was called into the Azzurri. He showed his quality throughout and prevailed over anything the despondent Luca Toni and co tried. Outstanding.
Angelo Ogbonna [Juventus]
In only his 10th start he looked like he belonged in the centre of defence. Was wise to everything and anything Mario Gomez tried and kept the German quiet and never put a foot wrong all afternoon. Calculated.
Jose Callejon [Napoli]
Under some pressure in the first half but showed his true value when snapping on to a perfect cross from Faouzi Ghoulam, dynamically heading into the top corner. Could have had a hat-trick if not for Morgan De Sanctis. Special.
Matias Vecino [Cagliari]
The Uruguayan 22-year-old scored his second successive goal when he spun to slot home in an instant. Keep the Isolani in the game and when starting has yet to lose since joining from Fiorentina in January. Vital.
Allan [Udinese]
Another resolute performance from the Brazilian who tackled fair but hard and constantly upset any rhythm Milan’s midfield attempted. Was dynamic in winning the ball back and covered Udinese’s more attacking midfielders on forward sorties. Essential.
Esteban Cambiasso [Inter]
Man of the Match popping up everywhere and anytime like days of yore. Always on the look out to hurt the opposition, he produced a fabulous assist for Rodrigo Palacio. Supportive.
Kwadwo Asamoah [Juventus]
Always a problem, he tortured down the left with constant crosses into the area. It was after one more terrific run that the Ghanaian superman with a touch of sublime skill screamed home a right-footed curler to win the game. Sumptuous.
Antonio Di Natale [Udinese]
The veteran never tires of punishing his opposition and with his touch and vision he caused Milan problems throughout. Scored the decisive goal after finishing a superb team move from eight yards out. Integral.
Stefano Okaka [Sampdoria]
In only his second full game he scored his second successive goal and was the best player on the pitch. Worked hard to get into the perfect position to score from a deflection while also setting up the fourth. Fundamental.
