Romelu Lukaku looks set to partner Lautaro Martinez up front for Inter ahead of Edin Dzeko, whilst Federico Dimarco will make his return from injury against Spezia on Friday evening.

Kick off at the Stadio Alberto Picci is at 19.45 GMT.

Matteo Darmian will continue to deputise for the injured Milan Skriniar in Simone Inzaghi’s back three, whilst Stefan De Vrij also comes in after missing out against Lecce last weekend.

Marcelo Brozovic should return to action at the expense of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who could rest ahead of next week’s Champions League match with Porto.

Inter have a near-perfect record against the Aquilotti, having won four of their five previous encounters and drawing the other.

Martinez in particular seems to enjoy playing against Spezia, having been involved in more goals against them than any other side in Serie A (three goals, three assists).

Inter are, however, not in the best form in away matches this calendar year. They have failed to win in three of their last four games away from home and have not scored in their last two, which is their longest streak since 2013.

Spezia are short of options in defence with Arkadiusz Reca suspended, Emil Holm, Simone Bastoni and Joao Moutinho still injured and Ethan Ampadu in doubt.

Dimitris Nikolaou is expected to start as left wing-back while January signing Przemyslaw Wisniewski will replace Ampadu if the Chelsea loanee forfeits.

Spezia vs. Inter – probable line-ups
