Football Italia’s season review is out now, featuring the best player and coach of 2021-22 in Serie A and the Team of the Season.

Milan have won their first title in 11 years and the 19th in the club’s history and many Rossoneri stars feature in Football Italia’s Team of the Season for 2021-22.

Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori, Theo Hernandez, Sandro Tonali and Rafael Leao have made the team of the season, according to our staff writers, Susy Campanale, Apollo Heyes, Andrew Cesare Richardson and Lorenzo Bettoni.

Leao and Stefano Pioli have been named Player Of The Season and Coach Of The Season respectively.

Lazio have two players in the Football Italia team of the season: the top scorer Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic who contributed to 22 Serie A goals this season, more than any other midfielder in the league.

Inter‘s Ivan Perisic, Domenico Berardi (Sassuolo), Giovanni Di Lorenzo (Napoli) and Gleison Bremer (Torino) complete the ideal XI for 2021-22.

Below, you can find ratings for each Serie A team and a detailed season review for every Serie A club in 2021-22. Thanks for following Football Italia during this crazy and exciting season, it’s time for some Mercato now, but Serie A will be back in less than three months, with the new season beginning on August 13.

22 thought on “Serie A 2021-22 review, awards and team of the season”
  1. Maignan
    Dumfries – Tomori – Bremer – Hernandez
    Brozovic – Tonali – M-Savic
    Leao – Vlahovic – Perisic

  2. Imagine finishing second and only having one player (who’s about to leave) in the top 11.
Ferban, you’re back, where have you been? Care to make more useless prections?

  3. Thank you FI for your patience in dealing with Toxic and entitled Inter fans this season.
You deserve a spot in the Team of the Season as well.

  4. @InterFan75 LOL. If you weaken your own squad, that’s your problem. Shouldn’t be a compliment for not knowing how to continue a winning cycle.

  5. @ Isàac

Yes that must be it.. it all came down to a goalie mistake. Son, look at the stats, we have conceded 2 goals in 11 games…

We score tons, and dominate our games. Clearly Milan deserves the title. Imagine how d we add good winger on right and an actual striker.. oh-oh

  6. @Bukruqul

You may want to learn what the word prediction means before using it lol.

A prediction is something in the future. This season is now in the past.

  7. @dollarumma

Yes, Vlahovic. From play they have similar scoring ratio (Immobile better), and have scored the same from play since Vlahovic arrived at Juve.

So you saying Vlahovic couldn’t score automatically means Immobile couldn’t score either lol.

It’s amazing Vlahovic scored 7 for Juve (as I said, the same from open play as Immobile did since February) playing under a dinosaur like Allegri.

Maybe it’s an anti-Juve thing with you, is it?

There isn’t one fan of any other club in Italy who wouldn’t take Vlahovic in their team in a heartbeat.

  8. @ fattycure – Erickson being dead for 3 minutes and not being allowed to play in Italy once recovered (yes more strange Italian rules) is NOT ‘Inter weakening their team’

  9. maignan – dumfries – bremer – tomori – hernandez – pellegrini – tonali – brozovic – leao – martinez – vhalhovic

  10. Victor Osimhen may not be the choice No 9 but he still seems to be the most dreaded centre forward in the entire Seria A

  11. Even though Victor Osimhen is not on the list, he still seems to me to be the most feared striker in the league
