Sassuolo took the lead with Davide Frattesi and fought to the end, but down to 10 men they eventually crumbled under a Beto brace with Udinese’s fourth consecutive victory.
The Neroverdi had injuries piling up for Domenico Berardi, Gregoire Defrel, Hamed Junior Traore, Mert Muldur and Filippo Romagna. The Friulani were fresh from a 4-0 demolition of Roma, but lost Adam Masina for six months, with Jaka Bijol also out of action.

Sassuolo broke the deadlock with a well-worked goal, Armand Laurienté releasing Davide Frattesi down the right with a cheeky no-look pass and the midfielder blasting in from the tightest of angles with his right boot.
Laurienté tested Marco Silvestri himself moments later, a low hard drive palmed away, while there were penalty appeals for handball when a glancing Udinese header ricocheted around in a crowd.
Sassuolo went down to 10 men on the stroke of half-time, as Ruan Tressoldi brought down Success just outside the box when he was sprinting on goal.
Udinese pushed hard and found a way through when Pereyra hooked a ball back from the by-line and Beto soared above his marker to nod in from six yards.
Lazar Samardzic tested Andrea Consigli from the edge of the area after a poor clearance, while Beto had another header just off target.
Udinese did turn it around in stoppages when Samardzic gathered from the edge of the box on another Pereyra assist and placed his right-foot curler into the far bottom corner.
Sassuolo crumbled and Beto added a third moments later, keeping his cool one-on-one to sweep past on-rushing Consigli when sent through by Sandi Lovric.
