Salernitana completed a remarkable comeback from 2-0 down to beat Udinese 3-2 with the last kick of the game and celebrate Serie A safety in style.
The hosts had Flavius Daniliuc and Norbert Gyomber suspended, plus Federico Fazio, Diego Valencia and top scorer Boulaye Dia injured, then Matteo Lovato pulled out in the warm-up, adding to the issues. Destiny Udogie sat out a ban for the Friulani, with Isaac Success, Enzo Ebosse, Gerard Deulofeu, Kingsley Ehizibue and Simone Pafundi unavailable.
Nehuen Perez made a decisive tackle on Lassana Coulibaly in the box, but Udinese took the lead when Sandi Lovric found Marvin Zeegelaar down the left to score from a tight angle.
It was 2-0 moments later, as Florian Thauvin dinked up a ball for Roberto Pereyra, who rolled across for the Ilija Nestorovski tap-in from six yards.
Salernitana got back into it with a wonderful Grigoris Kastanos left-foot curler into the far top corner from just inside the area.
Antonio Candreva can’t seem to stop scoring at the moment and grabbed the equaliser when Pasquale Mazzocchi touched on a free kick for the ferocious finish into the far top corner.
It remained open, Sandi Lovric sending Beto through to test Vincenzo Fiorillo, then Tolgay Arslan missed a sitter by ballooning over the bar from 12 yards.
Zeegelaar had opened the scoring, but was also sent off for a second bookable offence, a futile shirt tug on Iervolino.
That gave Salernitana the opening they needed to turn the game around from 2-0 down to win 3-2 deep into stoppages. Junior Sambia whipped in a cross from the left and William Troost-Ekong snuck away from Perez to volley in from six yards against his former club.
