Sampdoria plunged Salernitana further into trouble with a 2-0 win at the Stadio Arechi, as an unlucky own goal and Antonio Candreva counter-attack proved decisive.

Caputo had the ball in the net again on the hour mark, only for it to be ruled marginally offside. Although Salernitana tried everything to get back into the game, Samp defended calmly.
