The FIGC and Lega Serie A are, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, working to reopen stadiums for the third round of fixtures in the 2020-21 season.

The newspaper claims the Federcalcio and Serie A are trying to bring fans back into the stands for next season, looking at partially reopening stadiums in Week 3 of Serie A 2020-21.

One third of the capacity could be available for the public, as the report reveals a protocol proposed by the Lega Serie A on July 10.

Il Corriere dello Sport says the document presented last month was not taken into consideration by the scientists but that the FIGC still hopes to unlock the doors on October 3 and 4, the third round of the new championship.

That decision would benefit the national team too, who are playing friendlies on October 7 and 15, respectively played in Parma and Milan.
