Salernitana and Venezia meet at the Stadio Arechi today in a key game for Serie A survival.

It kicks off at 17.00 UK time and is a rearranged fixture from January 6, when the Granata had been ordered into quarantine following a COVID outbreak in their team.

They are unbeaten in the last four games and, if they win, they’ll escape the relegation zone for the first time this season. On Sunday they will face Cagliari, another direct rival. Luca Ranieri and Franck Ribery are out for Salernitana. Ivan Radovanovic is expected to get the nod over Riccardo Gagliolo.

Davide Nicola’s side won the last home game and haven’t managed two successive victories at the Arechi in Serie A since 1998-99. Federico Bonazzoli and Milan Djuricic scored six of the last seven Salernitana goals at home (three each).

Luca Lezzerini, Sergio Romero and Marco Modolo are out for Venezia who lost the last nine games in a row. They have 22 points in 34 games, no team has managed to survive with this amount of points at this stage of the season. No team has scored fewer goals than Venezia from set-pieces (7), while Salernitana have the fewest goals from open play (16).

Mattia Aramu scored in the last game against Juventus and has found the net in two successive Serie A matches only once this season. He has contributed to 10 goals for the Lagunari in 2021-22.
