Serie A Preview: Lazio vs. Roma

by | Sep 24, 2021 23:32

Maurizio Sarri has found his start to life in the Capital more difficult than Jose Mourinho, but you can never predict what will happen in the Rome Derby, especially with Lorenzo Pellegrini suspended.

This was one of the fixtures people were looking out for when the calendar was drawn up, as Sarri and Mou face off in what is already a bitter showdown between clubs. Roma have won seven out of eight competitive games so far, while Sarri scraped two points from his last four matches in all competition. He returns to the bench after sitting out a two-game touchline Serie A ban and Pedro will face his former club, as Mattia Zaccagni is injured.

Giallorossi captain Pellegrini is suspended following a harsh second yellow card against Udinese, to be replaced by either Stephan El Shaarawy or Carles Perez.
