Atalanta starlet Caleb Okoli congratulated his ex-teammate Dejan Kulusevski on winning the Swedish Ball d’Or, while Weston McKennie and Kaio Jorge were the only ones from Juventus to like his Instagram post.
Kulusevski has become the youngest Swedish player to receive the Aftonbladet’s Guldbollen since Tomas Brolin in 1990.
His typical celebratory Instagram post was commented on by Okoli who played with Kulusevski in Atalanta’s youth sector.
Kulusevski’s former Juventus teammate Matthijs de Ligt also sent his public congratulatory message, while the Instagram post showing the trophy was liked by McKennie and Kaio Jorge the only two Juventus players to publicly congratulate him on social media.
Merih Demiral and Arthur Melo, who also played with Kulusevski in Turin liked the post and so did Pierluigi Gollini, his former teammate in North London for the second part of 2021-22 and now at Fiorentina.
Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has won the same trophy 12 times, more than any other compatriot, has remained silent on social media, at least for now.
