The Serie A trophy will be handed out on Sunday evening, but with Inter playing at San Siro and Milan away to Sassuolo, this is causing a logistical nightmare for the ceremony.

We go into the final round of the 2021-22 season with only two points separating the teams at the top of the table.

Milan are the leaders and also have a superior head-to-head record with Inter, meaning if the two sides finish level, then the Rossoneri will be crowned Champions of Italy.

With either team able to win and lift the trophy, this is causing a logistical issue for the Lega Serie A.

According to Calcio e Finanza, they are planning to have the various items ready for the Scudetto ceremony at both the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza where Inter face Sampdoria and the Mapei Stadium in Reggio-Emilia, which is where Milan take on Sassuolo.

The two stadiums are circa 160km apart, so the Lega Serie A will split representatives with President Lorenzo Casini attending the Milan match and CEO Luigi De Siervo watching Inter.

There will therefore be two replicas of the Serie A trophy, with two sets of awards medals.

  1. God willin’ Il Diavolo (what a theological mess!) will celebrate a thoroughly deserved title in Reggio Emilia.

    FORZA MILAN!

And on a personal note: I’ll have to eat my words concerning Junior Messias, cause I was fully skeptical of his signing at the beggining. Oh boy what a blessed misjudgment of mine!

    FORZA MILAN!
