Napoli and Milan will go head to head at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Serie A for the first of three meetings scheduled over the next 17 days.

Luciano Spalletti will be without a handful of absentees, none more notable than Victor Osimhen, who picked up a muscular injury while away on international duty with Nigeria last week.

Giovanni Simeone is expected to lead the line for the Partenopei in place of the top goalscorer in Serie A this season.

An announcement on Sunday morning confirmed that Mathias Olivera will also not be part of the squad through illness and will be replaced by Mario Rui at left-back.

Meanwhile, Stefano Pioli has been tipped to change the shape of his Milan team heading into the clash in Naples, moving to a four at the back after the injury picked up by Pierre Kalulu while he was away with France U21s

Simon Kjaer could be in line to start in the Frenchman’s absence, with Davide Calabria coming in to play at right-back.

Theo Hernandez will also return in place of Fode Ballo-Toure, having recovered from a bout of flu, which ruled him out of the Rossoneri’s most recent game against Udinese

The top four clash kicks off at 19.45 UK time.

Napoli (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Kim, Mario Rui; Zambo Anguissa, Lobotka, Zielinski; Politano, Simeone, Kvaratskhelia.
Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Diaz, Salemamaekers, Leao; Giroud
