The managerial merry-go-round is in full swing in Italy, as Marco Baroni has agreed terms with Lazio and he should be replaced at Verona by Paolo Zanetti.

The latest domino effect was sparked by Igor Tudor deciding to resign as coach of Lazio, just three months after taking over from Maurizio Sarri.

Forced to move quickly, the Biancocelesti have seemingly chosen Baroni as their new boss, as multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Tuttomercatoweb are confident they have agreed a two-year contract.

It should be signed as early as Friday, allowing the club to prepare the transfer strategy for the new season.

Baroni out, Zanetti in at Verona

At the same time, these sources also report that Hellas Verona have picked Zanetti as the replacement for Baroni next term.

Zanetti is still technically under contract with Empoli, but terminating that by mutual consent will not be an issue, seeing as the 41-year-old was fired back in September 2013.

He had started the season with five defeats out of five games between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
