Venezia host Fiorentina at the Stadio Penzo in the last match of Matchday 8 in Serie A.

It kicks off at 19.45 UK time.

The Tuscans have won three of their four league games this season, while Venezia haven’t won any of their opening two games at home.

Jack Bonaventura gets the nod in Fiorentina’s midfield.

The former Milan man has one goal and two assists so far this season and his performances have been so impressive so far that the Tuscans are expected to extend his expiring contract.

Fiorentina’s striker Dusan Vlahovic starts up front and plays his first game since president Rocco Commisso announced the striker would not renew his contract expiring in June 2023.

All eyes will be on him and Venezia goalkeeper Sergio Romero who makes his debut with the newly-promoted side after completing a free move during the break.

The Argentinean shot-stopper played his last Serie A game in Italy’s top flight in 2014. It was a 2-2 draw between Udinese and his side Sampdoria.

Venezia vs. Fiorentina line-ups:

Venezia: Romero; Ebuehi, Svoboda, Ceccaroni, Haps; Ampadu, Vacca, Busio; Aramu, Henry, Johnsen.

Fiorentina: Terracciano; Odriozola, Milenkovic, M. Quarta, Biraghi; Bonaventura, Pulgar, Duncan; Callejon, Vlahovic, Nico Gonzalez.

  1. When there is a foul that deserve yellow, ref takes out the yellow and go toward the player to show it to him. Instead ref tried to find out who made the foul when he saw it was sottil enthusiastically went for the card….

Ref action was rediculous as his decisions on the field. He did his best to make sure viola looses…. 11 fouls and 5 yellow cards!!! Sottil didn’t deserve the red card. If his shirt was stripped he would not get the red card… amrabat yellow was also mistake.

This does not hide the fact that we didn’t play well today…
