The Giallorossi had a perfect record after six games between Serie A and the Conference League, but suffered a shock 3-2 defeat to Hellas Verona.

Matias Vina is still not fully fit, so Riccardo Calafiori is again at left-back, with Leonardo Spinazzola out for several more months.

Mkhitaryan returns to the starting XI with Abraham, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Nicolò Zaniolo.

Udinese also lost their first match last week, 4-0 to Napoli, but had until now been doing surprisingly well.

Ilija Nestorovski is still out of action, while Jens Stryger-Larsen is only on the bench after a late fitness test, but Destiny Udogie does return.

Roma: Rui Patricio; Karsdorp, Mancini, Ibanez, Calafiori; Cristante, Veretout; Zaniolo, Pellegrini, Mkhitaryan; Abraham

Udinese: Silvestri; Becao, Nuytinck, Samir; Molina, Pereyra, Walace, Makengo, Udogie; Pussetto, Deulofeu
