Maurizio Sarri needs to start turning Lazio around after back-to-back defeats, but he hosts a Cagliari side making their debut under new coach Walter Mazzarri.
It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).
The Biancocelesti had started the campaign with two wins under Sarri, even thought on both occasions they conceded the opening goal.
However, they lost 2-0 to Milan in Serie A and on Thursday evening 1-0 away to Galatasaray in the Europa League.
That result was decided by a Thomas Strakosha howler in goal and he makes way for Pepe Reina.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Pedro also return to the XI, with Ciro Immobile and Felipe Anderson upfront.
Sarri is suspended after his post-Milan row with Alexis Saelemaekers, so Giovanni Martusciello sits on the bench.
Cagliari sacked coach Leonardo Semplici after one point from three rounds, as last week’s 3-2 defeat to Genoa from a 2-0 leading position proved the final straw.
They brought in former Torino, Napoli, Inter and Watford boss Walter Mazzarri.
Diego Godin, Kevin Strootman and Marko Rog are out injured, with Leonardo Pavoletti only fit for a spot on the bench, so Keita Balde Diao and Joao Pedro lead the front line.
