Juventus give Filip Kostic his first start with Dusan Vlahovic and bring Adrien Rabiot back, but miss Leonardo Bonucci for the visit to Sampdoria.

It kicks off at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, in the Marassi area of Genoa, at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

Max Allegri has plenty of problems to contend with going into the second Serie A round of the season, having beaten Sassuolo 3-0 in the opener.

Leonardo Bonucci is only fit for the bench after a muscular issue, with Federico Chiesa, Angel Di Maria, Paul Pogba, Wojciech Szczesny and Kaio Jorge injured.

Arthur Melo is frozen out while the club tries to sell him, so it means Rabiot returns after suspension and his failed Manchester United move.

Daniele Rugani gets the nod rather than Federico Gatti in defence, while new buy Kostic has his first start.

Sampdoria lost 2-0 at home to Atalanta last week, but were unlucky and rattled the woodwork twice.

Manuel De Luca, Andrea Conti and Simone Trimboli are not fully fit, while Fabio Quagliarella is on the bench as Abdelhamid Sabiri and Filip Djuricic support Francesco Caputo.

Sampdoria: Audero; Bereszynski, Ferrari, Colley, Augello; Vieira; Leris, Rincon, Sabiri, Djuricic; Caputo

Juventus: Perin; Danilo, Rugani, Bremer, Alex Sandro; McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot; Cuadrado, Vlahovic, Kostic

  1. Someone posted yesterday that rugani will start ahead of Gatti, well done mate your right – what is allegri doing

  2. What can you expect with Rabiot and McKennie in midfield. Absolutely clueless. Then Alegri will blame “individual technical mistakes” on another poor performance. He’s a coward.
