Luka Jovic, Noah Okafor, Samuel Chukwueze and Malick Thiaw step into the starting XI as Milan know a win away to Monza would take them ahead of Juventus into second place.

It kicks off at the U-Power Stadium at 19.45 GMT.

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from today’s five Serie A games on the LIVEBLOG.

The Rossoneri are fresh from Thursday night’s 3-0 Europa League play-off victory over Rennes at San Siro and were further boosted by news that Juve were held to a 2-2 draw by Verona on Saturday.

That means a win here would allow them to leapfrog the Bianconeri into second place.

Stefano Pioli makes six changes from the side that beat Stade Rennais, including the return of defender Thiaw for his first start since tearing his hamstring on November 28.

Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Tommaso Pobega are still out injured, but Olivier Giroud, Simon Kjaer and Christian Pulisic are rested.

Monza have stuttered recently and are missing Patrick Ciurria, Gianluca Caprari, Samuel Vignato and long-term absentee Papu Gomez.

Milan-owned striker Lorenzo Colombo is on the bench in favour of Milan Djuric with support from Inter youth product Valentin Carboni in a change of system to 4-2-3-1.

This will always be the match for old memories, as Adriano Galliani spent over 30 years in charge of Milan as the right-hand man to Silvio Berlusconi, then followed the President to Monza.

He remained by his side until Berlusconi’s death in June 2023.

Monza: Di Gregorio; Birindelli, Izzo, Pablo Marí, A Carboni; Gagliardini, Pessina; V Carboni, Colpani, Mota; Djuric

Milan: Maignan; Florenzi, Thiaw, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Adli, Bennacer; Chukwueze, Loftus-Cheek, Okafor; Jovic
