The Nerazzurri are still fired up after their 3-3 thriller at Camp Nou, which put them on the verge of knocking Barcelona out of the Champions League with their own progress to the Round of 16.

That also took a lot out of them and there’s precious little option for squad rotation, as Marcelo Brozovic, Romelu Lukaku and Roberto Gagliardini are out injured, with Joaquin Correa only fit for the bench.

That means Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in midfield again, with Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez upfront.

Salernitana scraped a last-gasp win over Verona last week that silenced reports coach Davide Nicola was at risk of the sack.

Ivan Radovanovic is suspended, with Franck Ribery, Giulio Maggiore and Matteo Lovato injured, so 20-year-old Lorenzo Pirola – on loan from Inter – starts against his parent club.

Dia came off the bench to score that late winner, his fourth goal in the last seven games, along with two assists, and this time around he starts with Krzysztof Piatek.

Last season, Salernitana lost 5-0 to Inter both home and away.

Inter: Onana; Skriniar, De Vrij, Acerbi; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez

Salernitana: Sepe; Gyomber, Daniliuc, Pirola; Candreva, Coulibaly, Kastanos, Vilhena, Mazzocchi; Piatek, Dia
