Milan hope Charles De Ketelaere and Ante Rebic can deliver the goods in the absence of Rafael Leao against Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez and Sofyan Amrabat on an emotional night remembering Davide Astori.
It kicks off at the Stadio Artemio Franchi at 19.45 GMT.
Stefano Pioli was the coach of Fiorentina on March 4, 2018 when captain Astori died in his sleep from an undiagnosed heart condition on the eve of a game against Udinese.
It is fitting that he should be back in Florence on the fifth anniversary of that tragedy, albeit as an opponent, but always has Astori with him thanks to a DA13 tattoo on his wrist.
Milan have rediscovered their form since the change of system, putting together four consecutive victories between Serie A and the Champions League, all keeping clean sheets.
Rafael Leao and Rade Krunic are suspended, so can rest for the upcoming trip to Tottenham Hotspur, with only Brahim Diaz nursing a slight sprain and Matteo Gabbia suffering from flu symptoms.
Ismael Bennacer returns to midfield, with Rebic and De Ketelaere supporting Olivier Giroud.
Fiorentina have been a completely different team in the Coppa Italia and Conference League compared to Serie A, but finally ended their domestic winless streak with a 3-0 victory in Verona.
Aleksa Terzic is the only absentee, as Giacomo Bonaventura faces his former club, with Arthur Cabral increasingly the first-choice centre-forward ahead of Luka Jovic.
Fiorentina: Terracciano; Dodó, Martinez Quarta, Igor, Biraghi; Amrabat, Mandragora; Nico Gonzalez, Bonaventura, Ikone; Cabral
Milan: Maignan; Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori; Messias, Bennacer, Tonali, Theo Hernandez; De Ketelaere; Rebic, Giroud
