Inter have the chance to gain a little breathing room over second-place Juventus with a win away to an inconsistent Lazio.

The match between the Biancocelesti and the Nerazzurri kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Lazio have been wildly inconsistent in Serie A this term, winning six and losing six in their first 15 outings, but have found more joy in the Champions League, having qualified for the knockout stages after a second-place finish in their group.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are without the injured Gustav Isaksen, and Alessio Romagnoli isn’t expected to start after recently returning from a calf issue.

Inter currently sit just a point ahead of Juventus at the top of the league table, but can give themselves a boost after Massimiliano Allegri’s side dropped points to Genoa on Friday evening.

Stefan de Vrij, Juan Cuadrado, Denzel Dumfries and Alexis Sanchez are all unavailable for the Nerazzurri.

When these two teams met last season, Lazio secured a 3-1 at home but fell to Inter 3-1 at San Siro.

Probable line-ups for Lazio vs Inter

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Casale, Gila, Marusic; Guendouzi, Vecino, Luis Alberto; Felipe Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni.

Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro, Thuram.
