Juventus youngster Matias Soulé could start against Inter at San Siro tonight, while Marcelo Brozovic seems favourite over Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the middle of the park for the Nerazzurri.

Kick off at San Siro is at 19.45 GMT.

Simone Inzaghi’s Inter sit in second place on 50 points heading into their game with Juventus, who currently lie in 7th on 38 points after their -15 deduction, although Massimiliano Allegri still considers his side to be the second-best team in the division.

With top-four rivals Roma and Lazio also in action on Sunday afternoon, a three-point swing could make the race for Champions League football look very different by the end of the day.

Juve have considerable ground to make up if their points deduction is to be upheld and if they have any hope of playing in the Champions League next season.

The Derby d’Italia will be a close one to call, with both Inter and Juve posting similar sets of results in the weeks building up to the game.

Both sides got through their respective European battles during the week, with the Nerazzurri qualifying for the last eight of the Champions League, whilst the Bianconeri made it to the quarter-finals of the Europa League at the hands of Freiburg.

In the league, both have won two and lost one over their last three game weeks after Inter slipped to a 2-1 loss when they travelled to Spezia last Friday.

Inzaghi will not be able to select Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar and Robin Gosens, who all miss but through injury.

Alex Sandro, Arkadiusz Milik, Fabio Miretti, Kaio Jorge and Paul Pogba will be unavailable to Allegri, whilst Moise Kean continues to serve his suspension after being sent off in Juve’s recent loss to Roma.

Federico Chiesa and Angel Di Maria are available but still not fully fit, so 19-year-old Soulé could start in attack along with Dusan Vlahovic. Football Italia understands the Argentinean was tried in the starting XI during Saturday’s training session at Continassa.

Inter-Juventus probable line-ups

Inter (3-5-2): Onana; Darmian, De Vrij, Acerbi; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Lukaku, Lautaro.

Juventus (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; De Sciglio, Fagioli, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Soulé, Vlahovic.
