Inter blew Udinese out of the water with a Hakan Calhanoglu penalty, Federico Dimarco angled drive and 21-pass build-up to Marcus Thuram’s finish before Lautaro Martinez added a fourth.
The Nerazzurri had Alessandro Bastoni back, but missed Denzel Dumfries, Stefan de Vrij and Benjamin Pavard, forcing a reshuffle in defence. The Friulani’s only Serie A win this season was at San Siro against Milan, but Jaka Bijol joined Keinan Davis, Gerard Deulofeu, Vivaldo Semedo, Brenner and Enzo Ebosse on the treatment table.
Lautaro Martinez thought he had opened the scoring after 10 minutes, but his header from Federico Dimarco’s cross thumped against the upright.
Dimarco threatened too moments later, meeting the pull-back from Yann Bisseck down the right and forcing a save out of Marco Silvestri.
Udinese got some joy down the right flank, Roberto Pereyra twice not making the most of the assists from Lazar Samardzic and Festy Ebosele.
Hakan Calhanoglu drilled just wide from distance and had another scorcher charged down by Kabasele.
The deadlock was broken when Lautaro Martinez was not going to reach a cross from the left, but Neuhen Perez still pulled him back from the shoulder for a penalty awarded following the VAR review. Calhanoglu sent Silvestri the wrong way to convert.
Moments later, Lautaro Martinez fought to win back the ball, Calhanoglu laid it off and Dimarco smashed an angled drive across Silvestri into the far bottom corner for 2-0.
It became one-way traffic with a third before half-time, as Dimarco pretended to cross, but instead pulled back for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who floated a ball to the back post for the cushioned Thuram volley. There were 21 consecutive passes building up to that goal.
Lautaro Martinez came inches from a fourth in stoppages on another Dimarco cross, firing over from point-blank range.
Udinese had the ball in the net on 68 minutes, but Lorenzo Lucca was offside when turning in the rebound from Yann Sommer’s poor parry on the Sandi Lovric strike.
It was not complete until the Capocannoniere got in on the act, which he did in the final minutes when fighting to win back the ball in midfield, surging forward and smashing a powerful strike past Silvestri.
