Lega Serie A has hit back at Roma, claiming that it has waited three weeks for the club to put forward an anti-racism ambassador.

Roma suggested Serie A was not doing enough to eradicate racism after they had voluntarily given one of their fans a lifetime ban for abusing Juan Jesus.

“Are you really serious about tackling racism in Italian football, Serie A?” the club tweeted.

“It’s time for zero tolerance.”

That prompted the League to issue a response, accusing the Giallorossi of hypocrisy.

“We’re all on the same side, we’re building the Serie A TIM team against racism together,” it wrote.

“We’ve anxiously been awaiting your ambassador’s name for three weeks!”
