Verona flattened sorry Spezia at the Stadio Bentegodi, with Marco Davide Faraoni’s snooker shot and a Gianluca Caprari curler the pick of the bunch.
Giovanni Simeone was left unmarked for a header at the back post on a corner just four minutes into the match.
It was all downhill from there for Spezia, as Faraoni feinted an assist, instead placing a precise finish into the far bottom corner.
Caprari’s curler was unstoppable and Daniel Bessa used the other options to create space and score on the counter.
It wasn’t all one-way traffic, as Lorenzo Montipò had to make some fine saves on Daniele Verde and Rey Manaj hit the woodwork.
