It was a real thriller at Marassi, as Sampdoria fought back twice to lead with Antonio Candreva’s goal of the season contender, before Udinese snatched a 3-3 draw.
There was no shortage of entertainment in Genoa, with numerous chances at both ends even apart from the six goals.
Gerard Deulofeu set up the Roberto Pereyra opener, Candreva getting his sights with a strike that cannoned off the woodwork and ricocheted in off Jens Stryger-Larsen.
Beto got his debut Serie A goal to restore Udinese’s lead, cancelled out by a soft penalty converted by Fabio Quagliarella.
Candreva turned the game around with a sensational long-range scorcher that swerved and bent into the far top corner.
However, Fernando Forestieri bundled over the line from close range, saved from the offside flag by VAR.
