Watch as Napoli won the Campania Derby after an initial Salernitana surprise, including Lorenzo Insigne equalling Diego Armando Maradona’s tally.

Juan Jesus finally got his first goal of the season after two previous attempts were disallowed, and thought he’d have a repeat here too, but VAR showed Eljif Elmas did not handle.

Serie A | Napoli 4-1 Salernitana: Mertens and Insigne reunite

Federico Bonazzoli grabbed a surprise equaliser against the run of play, but Elmas went down to earn a Dries Mertens penalty.

Amir Rrahmani bundled over the line after good work from Piotr Zielinski and Mertens.

There were also question marks around the Insigne spot-kick which saw Veseli receive a second yellow card, but the hometown hero converted to equal Maradona’s 115 goals for the club.

I still think Dries may be staying. Shame about Insigne, hopefully elmas can step up or we can find a hidden gem in one of the smaller leagues.

On a sidenote, Napoli dominated this game and absolutely deserved to win, but the 2 pens and the red against salernitana were unnecessary and unfair imo.
